Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 26 August 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Mechago mobile app (the "App") and the bike roadside assistance platform it provides. Mechago connects customers who need bike assistance ("Customers") with mechanics who can handle the requested breakdown or service ("Mechanics"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility & Account Registration

To create a Customer account, you provide your name, mobile number, and a password, and verify your mobile number using a one-time code (OTP). Mechanic accounts additionally require administrator approval before a Mechanic can accept jobs. You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to register an account.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering and when raising a service request — including your problem description and location — so that Mechago and the assigned Mechanic can respond appropriately.

5. Breakdown/Service Requests

Customers may raise a breakdown/service request by selecting a problem type (or "Other" for anything not listed), sharing their location, and optionally attaching photos or linking a saved vehicle. Raising a request does not guarantee immediate acceptance by a Mechanic.

6. Location Information

Location information is used to identify your service location and support nearby-mechanic matching. See our Privacy Policy for how location information is handled.

7. Nearby Mechanic Matching

Mechago matches a submitted request with a Mechanic near the Customer's location. Matching depends on Mechanic availability at the time of the request; a nearby Mechanic being matched or available is not guaranteed at all times.

8. Mechanic Assignment & Service Workflow

Once matched, a request moves through a tracked workflow: Assigned, Accepted, On The Way, Arrived, Inspection, and Repair, through to Completed. Both the Customer and Mechanic can follow the current status in the App.

9. OTP-Based Arrival Verification

When a Mechanic marks themselves as arrived, a one-time code (OTP) is generated and shown to the Customer. The Customer provides this code to the Mechanic, who enters it in the App to confirm arrival before the inspection stage begins.

10. Inspection & Repair

After OTP verification, the Mechanic inspects the bike and records their findings, then carries out the repair. Inspection and repair details are recorded against the request and are visible to the Customer in the App.

11. Spare Parts

If a repair requires spare parts, the Mechanic may log the spare parts used against the request. The applicable cost of any spare parts used is added to the final invoice, separately from labour/service charges.

12. Labour/Service Charges

Labour/service is charged at ₹200 per hour. This is the current rate for the time a Mechanic spends working on a service request. There is no fixed upfront package price per problem type — the applicable labour/service charge reflects the actual time spent on your specific repair. We do not currently charge a platform fee, call-out fee, inspection fee, or minimum-hours charge, and no discounts or subscription plans are currently offered; if any such charges are introduced in the future, these Terms will be updated to reflect them.

13. Invoices

Once a repair is marked complete, the assigned Mechanic generates an invoice reflecting the labour/service time and any spare parts used. The invoice is made available to the Customer in the App.

14. Payment Records

The App lets a Customer record the payment method used (such as UPI, card, net banking, wallet, or cash) and mark an invoice as paid. The App does not currently process payments through a live, third-party payment gateway — the actual exchange of payment between Customer and Mechanic happens outside the App, and is recorded, not processed, within it.

15. Cancellations

A request may be cancelled at certain stages of the workflow, as reflected by a Cancelled status in the App. Where the option to cancel a request is available, it can be found on the request's details screen in the App.

16. Delays & Availability

Mechanic acceptance, arrival time, and overall service completion depend on real-world factors such as Mechanic availability, distance, traffic, and the nature of the repair. Mechago does not guarantee a specific response or completion time for any request.

17. User-Generated Content & Reviews

Once a job is completed, a Customer may submit a rating and review for that service. Reviews should be honest and relate to the actual service received. Mechago may use submitted reviews and ratings as part of operating the platform.

18. Prohibited Use

You agree not to misuse the App — including submitting false requests, false reviews, or false information; attempting to circumvent account restrictions; or using the App for any unlawful purpose. Misuse may result in account restriction or suspension, as described in Section 23.

19. Safety Responsibilities

Mechago includes the following platform safety mechanisms: Mechanic accounts require administrator approval before they can accept jobs; both Customer and Mechanic accounts can be restricted or suspended by an administrator; Mechanic arrival is confirmed through OTP verification before inspection begins; and every request is tracked through the App from submission to completion. Mechago does not currently provide insurance coverage, a formal Mechanic background-check program, government certification, or a guaranteed response time, and does not guarantee the quality of any specific repair. Customers and Mechanics are each responsible for exercising their own reasonable judgment and care during a service interaction.

20. Third-Party / Mechanic Relationship

Mechago's role is to connect Customers with available Mechanics and to facilitate and track the resulting service request through the App. Mechanics are independent service providers who use the platform to receive and fulfil requests. Nothing in these Terms should be read as making a Mechanic an employee, contractor, partner, or agent of Mechago, except to the extent expressly stated in a separate agreement between Mechago and that Mechanic.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mechago provides the App and platform on an "as available" basis and is not liable for the acts, omissions, quality of work, or conduct of any Mechanic, or for any damage, loss, or delay arising from a service arranged through the platform, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law. This section will be reviewed and refined by legal counsel before public launch.

22. Service Availability

The App and platform are provided on a best-effort basis. Mechago does not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, in all locations, or free from interruptions, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.

23. Account Suspension & Termination

An administrator may restrict or suspend a Customer or Mechanic account for misuse of the platform or violation of these Terms, which blocks further use of the affected account. You may also stop using the App and request account closure at any time by contacting us.

24. Intellectual Property

The Mechago name, logo, App, and related content are the property of Mechago or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App or platform without permission, except as necessary to use the App as intended.

25. Privacy

Our collection and use of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

26. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

27. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

[Governing law and jurisdiction to be confirmed by Mechago's legal counsel and added here before public launch.]
